| Understanding why you need Compress Shield. |

The Problem The efficiency of all systems that perform a cooling function (air conditioners, coolers, freezers, icemakers and heat pumps) deteriorates significantly over time. The temperature of the air or water produced by your equipment isn’t as cold as it once was and your unit runs longer to achieve the desired set temperature. Loss of efficiency leads to higher energy consumption, a continuous increase in your electric bill and performance issues that will eventually cause you to replace your equipment. The cause of loss of efficiency Oil is an essential component of every cooling system and is mixed with the refrigerant by the manufacturer to lubricate the moving components in the system. The oil film continues to build as your equipment ages, reducing the efficiency of heat transfer, which leads to longer run-times and higher energy usage. The American Society of Heating Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers, known as ASHRAE, reports that oil molecules from the refrigerant oil stick to all the metal surfaces inside the system forming a stagnant oil film which migrates throughout the system. This causes a reduction in the efficiency of most equipment of 2-8% per year. Over the years, this will result in considerable internal damage to the system and cause a great deal of friction. This will dramatically affect the heat transfer properties of the equipment, causing higher electric costs. The solution Compress Shield developed in part by a former DuPont Teflon scientist is a patented technology that displaces the oil film in your cooling equipment, replacing it with a single layer of a polarized molecule that prevents future buildup of oil. The oil returns to the refrigerant to perform its intended function restoring the efficiency of your equipment to a like-new condition. FEMP of the U.S. Dept of Energy reports Compress Shield increases the lubricity of refrigerant oil by as much as 1,500%.
